Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón, 2013)
The Yale Film Colloquium presents Alfonso Cuarón's 2013 GRAVITY, the first film of the Colloquium's "Spaced Out: Outer Space and Altered States" fall program. GRAVITY will be shown on 35mm.
Featuring stunning cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki, outstanding performances by Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and an innovative, unique score by Steven Price, GRAVITY transports the viewer into the void of outer space in a way that few other films have been able to. Alien (Ridley Scott, 1979) DIRECTOR'S CUT
35mm Print from the Yale Film Archive
The Film Colloquium presents the director's cut of ALIEN (Ridley Scott, 1979) on 35mm, print courtesy of the Yale Film Archive.
In the nearly forty years since its initial release, ALIEN has become a classic, giving rise to a number of sequels, novels, comic books, and other related productions. This film also launched the career of Sigourney Weaver, who stars as Warrant Officer Ripley. Though slightly shorter than the original cut of the film, this version includes many alternate scenes not included in the 1970 film.
